FAQs
Q. Will window film darken the interior of my home?
A. No. It will not darken the interior of your home. Vista will maintain the natural color of the interior. Many of our clients have been concerned about their homes being dark, much like the back of a limo. Vista window film is designed to block the damaging effects of the sun, without blocking out the light.
Q. Will the film bubble and peel over time?
A. No. All Vista window film is backed by a lifetime residential warranty. It will never fade, peel, or bubble over the lifetime of the window.
Q. How do I clean my windows after the film is applied?
A. All Vista window film has a dual scratch resistant surface. No special cleaners are required. Feel free to use such products as Windex, Glass Plus, or any cleaner that you choose. It is not recommended that you use cleaners with hard abrasive chemicals.
Q. Will the window film protect my furnishings and flooring from fading?
A. Window film provides protection from the damaging UV rays; the leading cause of fading. However, on rare occasions, some fabrics can still fade due to their chemical or organic composition.
Q. Will window film harm my house plants?
A. No. The window film will not harm your plants. Some plants may have an initial shock period, but will quickly bounce back and flourish.
Q. Can window film be used on Low E windows?
A. Absolutely. In fact, window film can more than quadruple the values of Low E windows, thus making them even more efficient. Additionally, Low E windows offer very low UV reduction, where Vista film has a 99.9% UV rejection value.
Q. Will the window film keep the heat out?
A. Yes! That is one of the true benefits of window film. Depending on which film you choose, the film can reduce heat by as much as 38% to 79%.
Q. What happens in the winter? Will the film allow the sun to warm the room?
A. Yes, and no. In the winter, the film will still absorb the heat that enters through the glass. However, the days are shorter and there is minimal heat gain due to the angle of the sun. At night, the film acts much like a thermal barrier. It keeps the artificial heat in, and will not allow it to escape through the glass. Normally, you would lose more heat at night than you would gain during the day. Vista film reverses that and saves you energy.
Q. Will window film make my windows safer?
A. Yes. Window film can actually strengthen the glass. If the glass is broken, the film will hold it together. This is a nice benefit for people who live on golf courses, in high crime areas, or have young children.
Q. Can I buy the film at Home Depot or my local hardware store?
A. Absolutely not. Vista window film is only available through a select group of dealers, hand picked by CP Films for their outstanding professionalism. Additionally, Vista window film is the finest film available. It is more durable, more efficient, and optically clearer that any other film available.
